my sewing machine I currently use.

March 2010

Well here we are going on our 3rd month in Kenai Alaska. Life in the Lawson household has been a bit stressful lately. I decided to get a job to help with the debt.It also was to get me out of the house so I can have a social life.
Working outside the home has its advantages but it also has its disadvantages. The kids are not use to me working so they are slowly learning when i am not here they have to clean up after themselves. Living in close quarters is forcing them to clean.
Robert has been working hard and loves his unit in Soldotna. He gets along very well with his Sgt. and that helps tons.
I keep myself busy by sewing anything form alterations to a quilt I am working on for Christophers 13th B day which will be late! i have also been working on sewing the cloth diapers I have tweeked from personal use and just love sewing them. I am hoping to beable to sew and sell them in the future for this area.
We can see spring trying to come but it is still nippy here.

Lawson Chaos 2010

We have been in Kenai now for 1 month and are still trying to get settled. The house is a bit smaller than we are use to but it is comfortable for the most part. We have been looking for another house to buy But the houses here are Very expensive. And so we wait, for the Lords timing.

Nov 2009 Alisha moved out of the house and on tho ND to attend her 1st semester of college. She started at MSU Jan 12th and is doing well. She is living in the dorms on campass with her great friend Brooke Fife.

She is also working at Maurices. Jan 2010 her boyfriend Chris gave her a promise ring( he has not yet served a mission so this is a promise to be engaged later when he returns)...Rob and I have mixed feelings but adore Chris and wish the best for them.

Down to 5 children at home,

The kids are all doing well. Emma (5) broke her arm again on New Years Eve and we are still dealing with that ordeal. She has healed well but will once again have the titanium pins in her arm until April 2010.

Robbie turned 2 on the 21st of December and keeps me busy here at home with being inquisitive about everything going on around him. He is still choosing to rest his head at night on our pillows in the master bedroom, but we have set up a toddler bed for him, he just has to get use to it. He loves to broom broom and anything to do with cars.Lightening McQueen etc.. He loves to snow machine with his brother Chris when he is allowed.

Bradley (9) is a very friendly boy and has made several friends here in his new school already. He has stayed the night with a friend from church and will start Cub scouts again starting today. They meet here at 4:30 on Tuesdays. Bradley is liking his new teacher Mrs. Fishier. He continues to need 3 special classes to help him with reading, writing and math.

Christopher (12 1/2) is liking his school and fits in quite well. He has many friends and is being challenged in taking shop this year. Christopher still has a love for Football, we are hoping to find a program here for him to continue in.

Danielle (14)took a little longer getting use to her new school at Kenai High. She had to switch out of Physical Science as that is a upper class man course here. She is keeping up with her homework and making friends and wants us to find a house so she does not have to switch schools again.

Dani misses Wasilla but keeps up with everyone through face book and cell phone.

Robert is keeping busy integrating into his transfer to Soldotna unit. He says he "loves his job and loves helping people" He is currently on a course to lose 20 lbs so he can attend MP school this spring. He is working hard 7-5 and often stays later. 4 on and 3 days off. He gets Friday-Sunday off.

I have been keeping busy sewing the cloth diapers I have felt inspired to sew.All in ones with polyurethane. I am presently filling an order for Jodi in Wasilla, a member of the church expecting in April. Most of my time is spent cleaning as my children still do not have a desire to clean up after themselves paying the bills and cooking. I am hoping to start a sewing business soon but need more information.

I really like the new ward we are in and hope to find a house here so we can stay. There are several Troopers in our Ward and the ladies I have been in contact with are just the nicest. I am working on getting to know who the women are and hope to make several good friends here. I can feel the spirit and love and that helps to motivate us to continue to take our family to church each Sunday.

We are striving to live the gospel by implementing Family Home Evening and scripture reading with our children. We have tried in the past with little success, but we must not give up on them.

We feel blessed with the security of Robert's job. I do miss my family in the states and wish i could be apart of their lives but have for the most part accepted AK as our home for now.

We could use prayers to help find a house we can afford.
